Published by the excellent Mo’Des Book Tokyo publishing house, WTAPS® 01 presents the brand’s huge archive since its creation in 1996, until 2017 (EX 35 – see here). More than 300 products have been carefully selected and presented chronologically to make sense of the history of the brand founded by Tetsu “Tet” Nishiyama. Each of the 300 pieces presented is accompanied by its own characteristics and observations concerning it. It includes the famous jackets and military parkas improbable camouflage prints that made the success of the label in the late 90s, some of the most iconic T-shirts, many accessories and an impressive list of collaborations with brands such as Vans, Supreme, Herschel, Stussy, Dr. Martens, Clarks, Timex, Timberland, etc. Each piece tells a story of the adventure Wtaps, become in a few years one of the most appreciated and respected brands in Japan and on the international scene. Presented in a beautiful box, the book of 360 pages – limited to 2000 copies – is now out of print on the online store Editions Mo’Des Book, but is still available at End Clothing.
