Pharrell Williams Shuts Down James Corden in Funny New Apple Music Ad

Apple has unveiled a glut of new commercials showcasing the recently-launched iPhone 7, the Apple Watch Series 2, and its music subscription service, Apple Music. The latter of which takes a humorous approach and sees The Late Late Show host James Corden pitching to a trio of marketing executives.

The ad features a typically-enthusiastic Corden pitching an array of bonkers ideas for Apple Music ads, each one quickly dismissed by incredulous execs Eddy Cue, Jimmy Iovine and Bozoma Saint John. “What if I’m giving birth to Justin Bieber, who’s giving birth to Anthony Kiedis, who’s giving birth to a phone,” Corden suggests at the start.

He then comes up with the idea of dressing “as every iconic music star in history,” and the clip then cuts to various shots of the chat show host appearing as Bowie, Slash, the Spice Girls, and Pharrell – who shows up wearing the new light blue “Human Race” NMDs to put Corden firmly in his place as he dances to “Happy.”

The ad comes just days after Apple launched iOS 10 along with a revamped version of Apple Music featuring an improved design and new features. Check out the ad above.

The Cupertino company also released two new commercials designed to show off the new iPhone 7 capabilities, including its low-light powers, water-resistance and durability, alongside another to showcase the new Apple Watch’s sports capabilities. Watch all three below.
