During the visit, Hasui revealed how his attitude towards his work changed after Japan’s tragic 2011 earthquake, as well as weighing in on the film vs. digital debate.
Finally, the artist shared his advice for young photographers. According to Hasui, young photographers shouldn’t think of their work as a way to access money or fame but think of photography as an integral part of their identity.
