The first muse for Kenzo is Ryuichi Sakamoto who is one of the people who sparks a myriad of ideas. he is an activist and a dancer.
The second one is a woman: Sayoko Yamaguchi. She is considered like one of the word’s original supermodels who has the ability to get embedded in any role that is asked of her.
This man and this woman are the inspirations of the collections.
For the women’s collection we can see a lot of stripes and florals. « Men’s tailored elements contrast with boldly-feminine metallic silks or memory satin in dusty pinks »
The men’s collection’s style is reminiscent of ryuichi’s individualism: « shapes are strong shouldered and high waisted. 50’s baseball trousers are matched with graphic album cover tees. Prints exclusively supplied by ryuichi sakamoto himself are worn alongside paisley and striped trousers and tops. »
These two parallel collections are inserted into one another, are mixed without being so, and give rise to a unique energy that is reflected in the portrait of these two muses.
