GOOK, a forthcoming movie from Justin Chon, tells the story of two Korean-American brothers who take over their family business after their father’s passing. The duo run their dad’s shoe store, in an African-American neighborhood of Los Angeles, while racial tensions accumulate in the lead-up to the infamous LA riots of 1992.
