This past weekend I had the pleasure of covering Brazzers x THNK1994 museum’s new art exhibition, Brazzers Breakroom VHS, which featured the office-favorite vintage-styled porno by Maya Fuhr. The exhibit which ran from the 28th through the 29th brought audiences past the softened plaster and through the glory hole—quite literally. The exhibition welted on Manhattan’s flank on 310 Canal Street created somewhat of a stir from the very beginning.
Early on, Viviana Olen and Matt Harkins of THNK1994 encountered complications with the event space. “We had to go to community board meetings to get approved for lines outside, and that was fun because they were eviscerating everyone. Then we went up there and all we did was explain there’s no reason that these porn stars shouldn’t get the same level of treatment that we would do an exhibit for a movie star or some other icon and they really couldn’t say anything they were like ‘you’re right,’”(Harkins).
