Blue Bottle Coffee Opens Its Fifth Schemata Architects-Designed Café in Tokyo

Bay Area-based Blue Bottle Coffee just linked up with Schemata Architects to open a new café in Roppongiearlier this fall and now the two are already back with their fifth location in Tokyo. Located in Nakameguro, the latest Blue Bottle location is actually situated right across the street from Schemata’s old headquarters in a former electric factory. Bright and open, the space echoes the aesthetic of the four previous Blue Bottle x Schemata collabs and also includes a dedicated area for workshops and barista training. As for the three floors themselves, they’re divided stepped-floor style using existing docking openings and feature horizontal pivot windows across the entirety of the front glass facade.
