New to the womenswear market, having just launched that side of the label for Fall 2017,Astrid Andersen is surely the Danish designer doing something different. While sportswear is no revelation this year on the runways, and certainly there are many brands bringing to the concept a cutting-edge evolution, the designer demonstrated with Spring/Summer 2018 a radical reinvention of fashion/function/art that came together as confusing, contemporary and beyond creative. Redefining the role of fabric, structure, silhouette, accessory, and texture, the collection is the rebellious and surprising in ways that surpass seasonal trends and prove that we can have hope for such unfamiliar thoughtful things ahead from Andersen.
