MILAN — If the blue skies and warm breezes were any indication, then readers should be advised to adjust settings, Fashion Week has migrated to Northern Italy as of Wednesday. Tommy Hilfiger’s late show Tuesday night in London went for high volume and sheer commercial force to drive home its see-now-buy-now message, but less than 24 hours later at Rotonda della Besana in Milan Alberta Ferretti followed a very different script. Grace, poise, and unfettered beauty were in abundance for her spring collection which was lyrical rather than wordy. Dresses for the most part were unembellished and maintained fealty to the body’s form. The results were breathtaking and overall made for an auspicious start to what will surely be an eventual week in Milan. On the afternoon six models from across the Next global network featured in the lineup including Grace Elizabeth, Selena Forrest, Anna Litvinova, Blanca Padilla, Lineisy Montero, and Leila Goldkuhl.
