PARIS — The clothes alone are worth the price of admission to any Haider Ackermann runway show and Saturday morning at 85 Rue de Bercy was no exception. Of course there was no cover charge for this one-time, invitation-only event and those fortunate to be sat ringside were in for a knock-out of sharp tailoring from what was a no-nonsense Haider Ackermann collection. The staging dispensed with smoke or really any other pretense other than an all-white runway and backdrop wide enough to accommodate rush-hour traffic on just about a street in the French capital. The generous runway made viewing the collection comprised of no more than 31 looks so pleasing. Hair by Duffy put even further emphasis on the collection. Models wore matted hair-like skull caps, which were in many cases stuck to heads with tape and loads of hairspray. Natural hair has never been much of a priority for Ackermann, which is understandable the asacclaimed designer’s clothes are just so dominant. On the morning, a trio of models from across the Next global network featured in the lineup including Estella Brons, Katlin Aas, and Carolina Thaler.
