PARIS — Jonathan Anderson’s affinity for works of art is well documented. His signature label show earlier this season in London featured various totems from his personal collection, which gave the show its own ceremonial feel. Friday morning at Maison de l’UNESCO Anderson articulated his love for art and its visual possibilities on an even grander scale for his women’s Spring / Summer 2018 Loewe collection. The runway wound through three oval chambers replete with specially commissioned tapestries featuring meticulously woven reproductions of works by Steven Meisel and others. The air was heavy with fine art, which set the stage perfectly for ever bolder gestures in service of globe-wandering bohemian woman. It was not a humorless affair, however, note the elfen sneakers worn by many in the lineup. On the morning walking for Loewe from across the Next global network were seven models including Manuela Miloqui, Estella Brons, Léa Issarni, Leila Goldkuhl, Shujing Zhou, Aube, and Oumie Jammah.
